To excel in VITEEE 2026, especially with the introduction of negative marking (+4 for correct, -1 for incorrect), your strategy must shift from “attempting everything” to “selective accuracy.”

Here is a structured 3-month study plan designed to cover the high-weightage topics while building the speed necessary for the 125-question marathon.

Phase 1: Foundation & High-Yield Topics (Month 1)

Focus on the “heavy hitters” that appear most frequently. Use NCERT as your primary text for theory.

  • Mathematics (40 Qs): Focus on Calculus (Differential & Integral) and Vector Algebra. These often constitute 30% of the math section.
  • Physics (35 Qs): Prioritize Electrostatics, Current Electricity, and Optics.
  • Chemistry (35 Qs): Focus on Coordination Chemistry, p-block elements, and Chemical Kinetics.
  • Daily Routine: * 2 hours: New concept study.
    • 2 hours: Solving 30–40 MCQs from that topic.
    • 30 mins: Aptitude (Data Interpretation/Coding-Decoding).

Phase 2: Practice & Accuracy (Month 2)

With negative marking now active, you must train your brain to skip questions you are unsure about.

  • Subject Integration: Start linking topics (e.g., using Integration in Physics problems).
  • Speed Drills: Solve 50 questions in 60 minutes. This forces you to identify “easy” vs “time-consuming” questions.
  • English (5 Qs): Spend 15 minutes a day on basic grammar and reading comprehension. These are “bonus” marks.
  • Weekend Mock Tests: Take one full-length mock test every Sunday.

Pro Tip: If you can’t narrow an answer down to 2 options, do not guess. The penalty can significantly drop your rank.

Phase 3: Final Revision & Mock Marathons (Month 3)

The goal is to reach a state of “unconscious competence” where you recognize question patterns instantly.

  • PYQ Analysis: Solve VITEEE papers from the last 5 years. Look for repeating patterns in Organic Chemistry and Physics formulas.
  • Mock Tests: Increase to 3 tests per week.
  • The 2.5-Hour Strategy: * Chemistry: 30 mins (Fastest section)
    • Maths: 60 mins (Most time-consuming)
    • Physics: 45 mins
    • Aptitude/English: 15 mins
